Artisanal bread-baker turned winemaker Richard Alfaro enjoys the fruits of his labor. After a long and satisfying career as the founder of a restaurant and the wholesale baking company known under his own name - Alfaro's Bakery - Richard shifted gears, acquiring an aging 75 acre apple farm in Corralitos, California, which he subsequently transformed into Alfaro Family Vineyards & Winery.

Richard is also a partner in the Martin Alfaro brand of wines, which he started with long time friend and wine industry vetran Joseph Martin.

Founded in 1998 by Richard and Mary Kay Alfaro, Alfaro Family Vineyards is dedicated to the production of Estate Bottled Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot.  Attention to every detail is personally monitored by the Alfaros in their quest to produce the finest varietals in the Santa Cruz Mountains.  Children Lindsay and Ryan frequently help out Mom and Dad.

The Alfaro Family Vineyards wine label, based on an original painting by noted Santa Cruz artist Laurie Zeszut, features the entire Alfaro Family in a harvest scene.
